Corrective Exercise

CorrectiveExercise

Corrective exercise is a means of restoring the body to a structurally strong position where the spine integrity and joint angles/ range of motion are normalised as part of base conditioning exercise programs.

This is preceded by a full orthopaedic assessment lasting up to 3 hours during which skeletal structures, posture, muscular balance and higher functions (eyes, hearing, breath, teeth and jaw) are assessed and objectively measured.

These procedures allow for a fully individualised programme leading to progressions towards fully functional capacity for sport or everyday life.

Functional Exercise

Following on from Base Conditioning programmes the client is then taken through programmes of functional exercise.

These are the movement patterns (bend, lift, squat, twist, push and pull) that we have needed to survive for millennia but which are sadly lacking in the modern gym environment of rows of shiny machines into which we sit, strapped in, pulling and pushing levers.

Functional movement patterns result in the full integration of the deep postural muscles and the natural muscular sling systems of the body.
